| Description: | Commemorating the August 1760 Battle of the Thousand Island, the re-enactment and colonial trade fair marks the final battle of the French and Indian War. Re-enactors from the US and Canada will be joined by Mark Valley, actor and Ogdensburg native, in battles on land (Lighthouse Point) each afternoon. The schooner La Revenante will be open for deck tours. As many as a dozen traditional small boats will race on Saturday morning and battle on the river each afternoon. More than 35 heritage exhibitors, artisans and merchants bring colonial color. Enjoy traditional music and dance, musters for the children and learn about Ogdensburg's early history. Friday evening the traditonal dance at the Freight House Restaurant is free and open to everyone. Saturday ends with a bang at 9PM when an artillery barrage lights up the river at the mouth of the Oswegatchie. This will be followed by fireworks. Special guests from Canada, France, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and other countries are also coming to Founder's Day Weekend. Watch for a schedule at www.fortlapresentation.net.
