The City of Ogdensburg has the following job listings: DIRECTOR OF PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT – The City of Ogdensburg has a department head vacancy for an individual who will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive, often complex and technically sophisticated, plans for community and industrial development. The incumbent must work well with citizen boards and commissions, with private developers and entrepreneurs, with neighborhood residents, and with federal and state bureaucracies. The work is performed under the general direction of the City Manager with considerable leeway for the use of independent judgment. General supervision is exercised over all employees of the Department of Planning and Development. The salary range is $50,096. - $67,330. The minimum qualifications are: *Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in city planning, public administration, or business administration and two years of fulltime paid experience in city planning, economic and community development or industrial development and Geographical Information Systems and LRIS; or *A Master’s Degree in city planning, public administration or business administration and one year of fulltime paid relevant experience; or *Any equivalent combination of education and fulltime paid experience. Preference may be given to candidates with experience in grant writing, housing programs, Local Development Corporations, Business Improvement Areas, Downtown Development Authorities and in Brownfield cleanup and redevelopment.
