The Ogdensburg Fire Department first became a career department during the Civil War years. We continue that tradition today with a staff of 33 members. During 2004, the department responded to 1824 calls for assistance. Each of the four shifts operates with an assistant chief, captain and six firefighters. The department received an ISO rating of 4 in 1998.
