The City has also operated a commercial façade program. In the past this has been operated both as a loan program and as a grant program, depending on funding sources. However, to stimulate investment in the City’s downtown, the program funds were used as matches to leverage the Main Street Grants. It is anticipated that the future program will be a deferred loan/grant program that is forgiven over the course of 5-7 years depending on the type and amount of investment. Additionally, the City will provide architectural and construction management soft cost grants in association with the construction assistance. However, these funds are subject to availability.
