The City of Ogdensburg now has a new schedule for curbside pickup of yard waste throughout the City. Yard waste will be picked up from June through October by the guidelines indicated in the link below. You can put your yard waste out no earlier than Saturday morning or later than Sunday evening on the designated weekend for your area and it will be picked up by DPW crews during the week that follows.
Yard Waste is defined as:
Brush, Branches (smaller than 6 inches in diameter and less than 6 feet long) and Leaves. Leaves should be in a separate pile. NO BAGS OR CONTAINERS OF ANY TYPE.
Yard Waste DOES NOT include:
Pet Waste, Construction Debris, or containers of any kind. These items will not be picked up.
Where to place your Yard Waste:
Locate your yard waste between the sidewalk and curb, not in the street.
Piles must not block fire hydrants, nor touch poles, bushes or fences.
Other Important Information:
DO NOT place yard waste in any kind of container or bag. It will not be picked up.
The City WILL NOT pick up debris or yard waste generated by a contractor.
There will no longer be an option to choose when calling the Department of Public Works for brush pick up.
BEGINNING MAY 16, 2016, and throughout the summer, you may bring your own yard waste, as described above, to the Old City Landfill at the end of Champlain Street from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
If you have any questions about the new schedule, you can contact the Department of Public Works at 315-393-2300.
