The part-time City Historian is responsible for maintaining an up-to-date chronicle of Ogdensburg's history. The Historian's budget includes acquisition costs for various publications used by the City Historian and publication expenses for articles and pamphlets written by the City Historian.

The City of Ogdensburg, New York, is located in northern St. Lawrence County along the southern shore of the beautiful St. Lawrence River, directly across from the Canadian towns of Prescott and Brockville, Ontario.
