School Resource Officer for Ogdensburg

The City of Ogdensburg Police Department is pleased to announce that at the onset of classes for the 2019-2020 School Year in the City of Ogdensburg, a School Resource Officer will again be working in the Ogdensburg District.  City of Ogdensburg and City School District Officials have recognized that the safety and security of the school community is enhanced with the presence of a School Recourse Officer.   

After interviews were conducted by a panel consisting of City of Ogdensburg and School District representatives, Patrolman Joshua Vine was selected by the panel as the new School Resource Officer. 

Officer Vine is a nine year veteran of the Ogdensburg Police Department having been appointed as a police officer on January 6th 2010. Officer Vine brings to the position a wealth of training and experience. He is a New York State Certified Instructor in General Topics, Firearms, Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and Reality Based Training. He is a State Certified Field Training Officer, Drug Recognition Expert and assists with the active shooter and reality based training conducted by the department. Additionally Officer Vine is a Certified School Resource Officer, is a member of the New York State Juvenile Officer Association and will be attending Juvenile Aid Officer Training prior to the start of the school year. 

Officer Vine will be primarily assigned as a School Resource Officer throughout the school year; however he will continue to be a resource for the police department in the several areas he specializes in. When school is not in session Officer Vine will be assigned to work on patrol. 

Officer Vine comes to the SRO position with an excellent skill set and throughout his career he has demonstrated an excellent ability to connect with people of all ages in our community.
